Today was the end of a big week. We launched our inaugural 2020/2021 Impact Report at Artesian after 9 months of writing and planning.
As the climate crisis accelerates, unfortunately, so too does gender equality, widening the gap between men and women in many parts of the globe. As we recognize environmental degradation we must also consider gender equality in all forms and tackle these two issues together.
My thoughts on how the Venture Capital (VC) industry has traditionally trailed behind other asset classes in the adoption of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices despite a growing body of evidence pointing to the materiality of ESG factors in assessing risk and opportunity at the early stage.
I was invited to speak at the Women Advisor Summit 2020 (hosted by Investment News) alongside my good friend, Esther Pan Sloane from UNCDF. Here is a summary of my presentation including frameworks, guidelines, and principles - plus some useful tools and resources to help when assessing or constructing an impact investment thesis/theory of change.
